Frequently Asked Questions

How much do you charge for a counseling session?

My fee for a 60-minute healing session is $100. For couples and family sessions, I charge $200 for an 80-minute session. An 80-minute session allows for each member of the couple or family to voice their individual experience and concerns.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! I accept Aetna, Cigna (starting 2022), Harvard Pilgrim, Optum, Oscar, Oxford, United Healthcare, and United Medical Resources (UMR). If you are not covered by these insurers payment is out-of-pocket. For more details, please see my Fees & Services page.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept payment by cash or credit card. My clients are required to send me payment 24 hours prior to our scheduled weekly sessions to secure their appointment.

Do you offer sliding-scale payment?

I believe counseling should be accessible and available to every individual. I understand high fees can deter some folx from seeking counseling. While I do hold sliding-scale time slots, all of my sliding-scale slots are currently full. Please do not let that stop you from reaching out. We can explore options that feel good for you.

What is your cancellation policy?

Scheduled appointments must be cancelled 24 hours in advance or the full session fee will be charged.

I think we'd be a good fit, but I want to be sure, do you offer a free consultation?

Yes! Choosing a therapist is a big deal. I want you to feel safe, secure, and confident in your decision. I also want to make sure I can best serve your needs. I offer a free 30-minute in-person consultation prior to setting up your first appointment. This is a chance for you to gauge our fit and ask any questions you might have about the therapy process.

I'm eager to get started, how soon can I book an appointment?

If you're scheduling by phone or email, I respond within 24 hours. We can potentially schedule a phone consultation within that same time frame of 24-48 hours.

How often should I come to therapy?

I find weekly therapy to be the most effective time commitment for my clients. This work is sacred and requires an intention to put yourself first on a regular basis. If you are interested in intensive trauma therapy or spiritual work, out of ethical responsibility, I require weekly appointments. I also offer twice-weekly sessions if desired.

What are your office hours?

I typically keep a 11 AM to 6:30 PM weekday schedule. I am also offering weekend appointments for a limited time. If you are in need of an evening or early morning appointment, please inquire. I do my best to work with the scheduling needs of my clients.

What is trauma?

Trauma is complex. The common perception is that trauma involves a threat to life or safety, but any situation that leaves you feeling overwhelmed and isolated can result in trauma, even if it doesn’t involve physical harm.

I am accustomed to working with womxn that feel the world is unsafe for them to be their authentic selves. The world has labelled them “complicated” or “sensitive” so many times that they now see themselves as “fucked up” or “unlovable,” rather than the brilliant, young womxn they are.

Whether this aligns with your experience or not, I want you to know that the Goddess in me sees the Goddess in you. We all get to choose the people and places we call home, and our trauma doesn’t have to be one of them.
